Project Detail
Hit Sim
A softball flight lab for comparing exit velocities, launch angles, and field context with portable experiments.
Early model
Overview
Hit Sim starts with a simple question: what changes when two hits leave the bat differently?
Compare two trajectories in a 3D field projection, overhead view, or side profile. Adjust exit velocity, launch angle, spray direction, field dimensions, and illustrative player positions. Orbit the field, zoom toward a point of interest, jump between camera presets, inspect apex/fence/end-state telemetry, replay both flights on the same clock, save the current experiment in your browser, or export JSON and share a parameter link.
The first model includes gravity and optional estimated air resistance. Wind, spin, bat contact, and fielding remain future work. The physics module and versioned scenario format are separate from the interface so the model can evolve without losing the experiments that motivated it.
